Primavera is one of Barcelona’s most successful festivals and will enjoy its tenth year from May 27-29. During these days, thousands of revellers will come together to see such UK acts as The Pet Shop Boys and The Charlatans. Arguably the most eagerly awaited performance, however, will come from 2009 breakthrough artist Florence and the Machine. There will also be gigs by some of the most-loved songsters from the worlds of grunge, pop and rock.
Demand for tickets is likely to be high for an event now in its tenth year. In recent years, the home of the festival has been the Parc del Forum, known as a great outdoor area. It was constructed, originally, to host the Universal Forum of Cultures exhibition but now has several uses. Many people use it for swimming, as there is a public pool, while others dock their boats in the marina.

Some parks and town squares will be used for performances. Castle Montjuic will even be utilised as this is the tenth year of the event. Activities in the castle will actually take place one day before the festival begins.
Whether you are planning to take the bus, tram or train, you should find the Parc Forum easy to reach. To leave you just a few minute’s walk from the park, take the train to El Maresme. However, if you’re jumping on the bus, numbers 7, 36, 43 or 141 are the ones that will get you there. Trams are always a fun way to travel, so why not ride one to the festival, alighting at the Forum stop.
Booking a las ramblas apartment nearby will mean that you don’t have to travel at all. Despite the advantages of staying nearby, the Diagonal Mar neighbourhood is one of the most expensive areas in the city. So, if you are looking to save money, the city centre is the best option. Apartments are much cheaper than hotels and offer lots of choice, so all of your requirements will be catered for. Best of all, even in the busiest traffic, you can be at the Parc del Forum in only 20 minutes.
For music lovers, the Primera Sound Festival is one of the events of the season. Not only see some of the biggest names performing live but you can do so in an outstanding venue.
