Edinburgh is home to some of the finest museums and galleries in the whole of the United Kingdom and within easy reach is an excellent selection of castles, historical buildings, fortified houses and stately homes well worth a visit. Edinburgh is a city of two halves, the Old and the New Towns, which are incredibly different, however both are a World Heritage Site.

The city is renowned for it enormous number of festivals. referred to as Europe’s festival capital the annual calendar is jam packed with events and festivals throughout each month of the year. The busiest month is August, with no less than eight festivals. In August it is immensely difficult to find an Edinburgh Hotel which has vacancies, so book as soon as you can.
The Edinburgh festival year starts (or ends) with the planet’s largest New Year party, Hogmanay. Equally well known is the comedy festival called the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and other festivals include; the Art Festival, Jazz Festival, Festival of Politics, Book Festival and more.
Edinburgh Accommodation
As I said earlier the worst month to find accommodation is August when the vast majority of Edinburgh Hotels are fully booked. Unfortunately the same could be said about The Christmas and New Year period which is often booked a full 12 months in advance, so it is really vitally important to book early!
The city has a helpful selection of guest houses and hotels ranging from reasonably priced establishment to the more costly top class luxury hotels with spas and gyms with a great deal of services and facilities. So whatever your budget you will surely find the perfect accommodation for you online.
