I want to spread the word about Kefalonia holidays. It is one of my favourite holiday destinations and a place that is already popular with tourists from the UK. Although it is popular it still isn’t as popular as islands such as Kos.
I don’t know exactly what makes a good holiday for you but Kefalonia holidays offer a wide ranging appeal. They attract many different types of tourists because it is so diverse island. No matter what you are looking for you should find it there.
Do you like a bit of culture? As Kefalonia is a Greek island it has a long and fascinating history. You may want to buy a guidebook because there are so many ruins for you to explore. It is a really interesting culture for you to find out about.
If you are like me then you will love going the beach. The beaches are a great attraction of Kefalonia holidays. They have some of the best beaches of all the Greek islands and in fact have one of the most famous. It appears on most of the postcards of the island and the surrounding islands too.
The accommodation on the island is similar to that of the other Greek islands. There are many types of accommodation but mostly they are apartment style. The hotels tend to be clean if a little basic. You will find a lot of self catering accommodation so there will be plenty of opportunity to grab a bargain at the look supermarket. If you want something more upmarket then you will find these hotels on the island too but obviously they will be more expensive.
The currency used in Kefalonia is the euro and you will be able to change most major currencies at the local banks. The Euro’s strength in the recent years has meant that the prices are a little more than they were previously for tourists.
